想念…
不用每天挂在嘴边
而是当我做的每件事
你总会在我脑海里出现

你是否和我一样看见了这默默守着月亮的星星?

在八月十五中秋节结束前的最后几分钟,祝大家快乐安康~..=)

Typhoon Fanapi

The blissful thing to be the citizen of Malaysia is Malaysia is free from any natural disaster, we don't have volcano eruption, earthquake and even typhoon, we never have chance to experience these on our motherland. Now i can said that i'm "lucky" as i'm going to experience the power of Typhoon Fanapi soon in Taiwan. By the way, what should i do and prepare during this typhoon time?? >.<"..

The 1st thing i need to understand is typhoon will bring lots of rains and  winds, so during typhoon day i may not go out, if i go out  maybe will blew away by wind...LOL..So cannot go out mean i cannot go buy food, as a result i need keep some food in my hostel to prevent myself die from starving...haha!!
I think is enough for 1 and  a half day...

Typhoon attacked Taiwan at Saturday night (18-9-2010), i can heard the sound of wind very clearly when i was sleeping...I'm glad i'm staying in Miaoli, the only county which surrounded by mountains, so the effect of typhoon was insignificant here...
The view from my balcony on Sunday morning...

Typhoon Fanapi has badly impact to Taiwan east part, i'm glad i'm still fine here...hope everything will getting recover soon...

上仙山,饮仙水

Monday, September 20, 2010

仙山...somewhere i can see from my work place, there is a temple on top of it which girdled by mist...likes the home for fairies....now i finally have an opportunity to unveil the mystical side of it...

The temple at the hillside

closed up look on it...
the dragon was pasted by the ceramic piece by piece...incredible technique
To climb this mountain, i think you must physically fit enough to challenge the loooooooong staircases...i think it is longer than Batu Cave one...LOL...but don't worry, no monkeys here!!
exercise time...countless staircases waiting for you
Come on, don't be so upset for the staircases, you can still enjoying the aesthetic view and sometimes you may accidentally see some rare high altitude species over there!!! Just keep your eyes open...keke..=p
Finally we were at the top!! The water is cold and refreshing
After drinking the "immortal" water, is time to go back before the sun setting...We choose using the another way went down....
the view along the pathway going down
some part of the pathway became very steep, i'm phobia on it!! ><"

The steep pathway really made me gonna going crazy, i just hate it...Luckily i was safely gone down, no loss balance and fell down...phew~ Maybe the "immortal" water was protecting me...hehe...=)

Before i sharing my trip to 台中 and 鹿港, let me share the 5 best and worst things to travel alone with you guys 1st...

Five best things to travel alone: =D
1) you can go wherever you wanna go
2) you decide your own time
3) nobody will blame you when you loss direction
4) nobody will influence your decision
5) you will proud on what you have achieved

Five worst things to travel alone: =(
1) nobody help you take picture
2) nobody can share your excitement when you found something interesting
3) nobody can share their food with you
4) nobody help you take care of your stuff when you need go to washroom
5) nobody stop you for over spending

So are you guys agree on it?? Anything can added on?? Welcome you all leave a comment here..^^

Ok, cut off the craps, let's began my story...

...After an hour train trip, i finally stepped on this unfamiliar land with my own foot, own self...The breezy wind seem kissing me and telling me WELCOME TO TAI CHUNG!! My journey was began right here, right now!!^^

With the aid of the young lady of tourist info office, i got into the right bus to Art Museum without any difficulty...This is a good sign for my journey...=)
There is a monitor in the bus to show you what is the next station, so no need to worry about getting down at a wrong station. Oh ya, remember prepare some coins for bus ridding...=)

OH~Art Museum is renovating now...so need to use the side door for entering...But yii~ Why the museum looks so empty??? Oh my, they just sent off part of the exhibit items...sad...T____T i came on the wrong time...Since nothing much to see here, i watched a documentary about Taiwan White Terror named "春天许金玉的故事"...Actually i not very know on this historical event, but the strong determination of Madam Xu really impressed me a lot, she never regret on what has she done, and her love to husband truly give me a  deep thought...Bleeding is the fastest way to make the world change...

my enthusiasm sank down when seeing this empty hall...
Leaving Art Museum, continued to Science Centre...I choose went there by walking as i can saw the street view and simply enjoyed the moment when i was alone...I spent quite a lot of time to get there as i kept loss direction...but i still got there, obstacles were not obstacles anymore as i can overcome it, enjoyed the searching process...=)

Passed by Sogo and have a look into it..the lift lady and gentleman made me felt uneasy...haha
Inside has lots of different theme halls can visit...
I just surprise even on weekdays also lot of students came to have a visit to the Science Centre...My hope to have a peace of mind was doomed...LOL...Quite down for this...haha

look carefully, this drawing was made up by the wings of butterflies!!!
the grave for butterfly...><
This picture cheer me up...=)
Gonna 5pm, is time to leave...Since the travel pamphlet i read included the landmark of Tung Hai University - Luce Chapel as one of the spot, so how can i miss it?!..=) This chapel was designed  by the architect and artist Chen Chi-Kwan in collaboration with the firm of noted architect I. M. Pei, and named in honor of Rev. Henry Luce, an American missionary in China in the late 19th century and father of publisher Henry Luce.
The Luce Chapel

Day getting darker and my stomach also singing already, is time to find some food at Tung Hai night market to console myself...=)

It's really people mountain people sea, haha

Really walked a lot for today, should have a nice rest for tomorrow...With my youth travel pass i got a bed at 国军英雄馆 with only TWD 500...actually one room is shared by 3 people but since weekdays no much people come so i own the whole room by only myself, wakaka...XD
Room 518
Next day, after having the breakfast at hotel, should departed to Lu Kang for my next adventure...The bus from Tai Chung to Lu Kang is very frequent, the journey took about 1.5 hours, so how i spent the time?! Sleeping is the most suitable one, hehe..=p

Oh, the big sun there made my skin getting more tanning...I planned to go folk museum 1st but i accidentally went to 丁家大宅...Well, is no harm for me to have a look there right?..=)

The folk museum just located behind the 丁家大宅, is a Baroque style building, and it looks grand... Many antiques can be seen there, but the antiques clothes is the one which attracted my attention the most...

鹿港民俗文物馆

Lu Kang is not a big town but it also cost me quite a lot of time in searching the Long Shan temple...I just confused with the signboard there..lol...This temple is so old, i like the old chairs, old doors, old windows, old roof...like anything that looks old there, make me felt that it is a real old temple exist for very long time, not human made old temple...
龙山寺
i also went to the breast touching alley, from the description i saw from the folk museum, it said that this alley is so narrow until cannot walk by 2 people in one time...but are you guys think is it so narrow?!
摸乳巷
Before leaving Lu Kang, went to took a picture at the fake railway station...haha...So this is the end of my lonely trip...would it be someone to accompany for the next trip...let's wait and see...
Actually it is a tourism info office

走走走~去公馆 + 大湖瞧一瞧

Another half day trip with CE, simply walked around somewhere near to Miaoli City...
We decided went to a new 桐花公园 1st...it is  an enormous garden, lots of flowers, lots of trees...but no Tung Blossom can found there, came at wrong season again..haha...
Also named as May Snow as it flowered on May and its pure white colour make it looks like snow that falling down to earth
No chance to enjoy the beauty of Tung Blossom but there has a mini Hakka museum to see, so can considered as a consolation to me...^~^
Simulation of old time Hakka compound
Ok, next stop at an oil and gas gallery, the gallery is a bit old yet you still can found something interesting from there...=) Oh ya, the entrance is FREE...kaka..XD

wonder how to operate this, somebody can teach me??
We still have time, let's check the Shei-Pa National Park out...It is the 3rd mountain national park in Taiwan, established at year 1992, covered an area of 76,850 hectares. Its geographical area provides a suitable environment for many Taiwan indigenous species. Moreover, 51 mountains with height more than 3,000 meters can be found there, it is also one of the hiking hot spot for the mountain climbers...

We just walked around the gallery...
Lastly, to the strawberry land - Da Hu...various type of strawberry products can be found there, as long as you can name it you can found it there...Owing to this is a tourist spot so the price of strawberry products are slightly higher...As a result i back with both empty hands...lol...
I wish i can have a bite on it..keke...

用心看台湾

Saturday, September 18, 2010

Have you guys heard about this TV show before? They recently have a shoot at Miaoli Shihtan and my boss was taking part in this video shooting...

This is a Taiwan geographical show which introduce the local culture and history, as well as the natural environment of 319 villages and towns of Taiwan. As the name of this show, use our heart to see Taiwan...to see somewhere and somethings that neglected by people nowadays...

day 1, shooting the places around my work place...
day 2, Shihtan old street...

This show will be broadcasting a month later, if you guys interested in the surrounding of my work place can check this show out...=)

Up With People

"Meeting this group of people by a pretty little mistake.."
Why do i said so? Let me flashed back to the 1st day i went to Miaoli...

That's a hot day man, CE brought me to Miaoli travel info office to take some Taiwan travel pamphlets, in the meantime, the officer there told CE there will be a group called "Up With People" going to came to Taiwan at 7 September 2010, they need some of the residents at Miaoli be the host family for them, if we have any doubt we can attend a talk regarding to this program at night. Since we felt interesting on this program, so we attend it and without any further consideration, CE wrote down his name and personal info to be one of the host family for this program, i like this, keke...=p

7 September, the very 1st contact with these people, there are 80 in number from 20 different countries, WOW~is a huge group!

Every host family will have their own nick name and CE got cabbage as his nick name, so with this pig head cabbage we found two handsome young men to stay with CE for 4 days 3 nights, and my task is to be the translator for them (a poor English translator,LOL)

They look exhausted as they have a flight for almost one day to Taiwan! I sure it was a suffering thing for all of them...

After having some rest at CE's house, we have our dinner at a buffet style steamboat restaurant. Is weird to see western people eat with chopsticks, haha...I wanna tried to get fork and spoon for them but they refused me to do so, really admire them have a great spirit in trying new thing...=)

The next activity was going to a calligraphy teacher's house to write the calligraphy. The warm teacher served us "oriental beauty tea", they like it a lot, included me as well..=) Teacher wrote 2 ancient time poems to present them^^

2nd day...7.30 in the morning, we took away our breakfast from a traditional Taiwanese breakfast stall as we were short of time to drop them at the gathering venue...I really don't know how to translate 油条,烧饼,韭菜盒子 to them...somebody here can tell me what they called in English??..XD

Night there was a opening ceremony of " Welcome to Miaoli", some traditional acrobatics, lion dance, dragon dance and chinese yoyo were performed there...
After the performance, we went to the night market, i think is not easy for them to accept the local chinese flavour...haha...we also brought them to have a look at the chinese temple.
Can you see them in this picture?!LOL

What's his wishing of??...
The night was still young, we decided to have some drinks at a bar...=)

Jason the Bermudian...=)

Chris the Canadian...=)

3rd day night, a wonderful musical show was shown at   Yu  Da University, they are awesome and done very well in that show, incredibly enjoy there...^^

11 September morning, is time to say goodbye with them...
Goodbye friends...
I never thought that i will meet someone from Canadian or Bermudian or whatever places in my life before this, maybe we may not meet each other again in the future time, but sincerely thanks you guys  being part of my memories, miss the time we spent together even though it was short...=) Wish you guys have a safe and smooth trip throughout Up With People...have fun guys!!
